Someone has been teaching me this all wrong !
Beautifully presented by a calm, quiet voice that really absorbs. OSS ! 🥋
Thanks Sensei, my question is : why are you lifting your back for while moving in zenkutsu? I can never figure out if it’s a mistake or not.. some say it is. Thanks in advance for replying
Ha ha! Yes, it is not the best for the heels to come up. Unfortunately I have injuries at the moment that make it difficult for me. When I post videos like this the emphasis is on the techniques I am encouraging people to practice - I am not trying to showcase “perfect” karate.
Orange belt exam time

Thanks again! As I wrote before I am trying to resurrect my memory, body and skills after 8-9 years off Shotokan. I was studying on my own when I lived in Bangalore India. There was a Shotokan School on the other side of the city, that would have required a 2 hour autorickshaw ride there and back if traffic wasn't too bad, which is rare in Bangalore from 2012-2016. So I drilled on my own following along with Paul Walker's videos (Shotokan Sensei on UA-cam), and also studying Hirokazu Kanazawa's movement on UA-cam for extra inspiration. No one to practice Bunkai with. I made it to Red in Kajukenbo at a dojo in the 1990s then moved. Then Purple in "Kodakan Jitzu" at another dojo in early 2000s and then moved again, then Shotokan with an 8th degree American who was in the Korean war, with three other people in the mid 2000s. He was great, but that ended when he got arrested. There is no point in saying why. Suffice it to say that the nature of the crime was offensive, and I felt really let down and didn't want to practice Shotokan for a long time as it reminded me of him.
Timely, I was discussing the differences with my JKA counterparts last night.
I appreciate the performances from three angles. That is extremely helpful. I subscribed. I made my up to Bassai Dai and Bassai Sho, but life events took a turn for the worst and now I am trying to resurrect my knowledge after 8 years off karate.

I am just knew to lean martial arts once in a week during my off days. 2 hours per session in a week. Watching techniques helps a lot for me to practice by myself during night time if I'm free from work. I consider my exercise before going to sleep. Thank you for your channel. It's been a month of learning so I can do some movements that can high my white belt to the next level. It's my dream come true.
i love karate i am yellow color is shoto kan
front leg should not go so up .. not higher then belt ... why ? omg everyone do this different way .. in some videos here on youtube persons kicks twisted like not with kakakto on top and koshi down but joko geri this one have starting with so high knee ... why ? It should be high like mae geri and actualy you first do kick to your butt thats starting then rise knee then look back to enemy and kick with kakato ... i am looking how to do it as someone who want to learn it and everyone do this different way ( its probably problem which karate is it .. there is actualy 16 different karate styles ... like gojuryu , shotokan etc etc ... )
My exam in next three hours
